Moustache

Moustache. Moustache. What comes to the mind when you hear this word? Facial hairs on the upper lip or an attribute of the gender male. Whatsoever it has been in possession of many important personalities like Hitler, Hulk hogan and many Viceroys. No doubt the style has evolved and today there you see a variety among the Moustache on Faces. Beliefs differ among Religions and visions on whether to keep it, trim it or simply remove it.

Significance of Salah or Namaaz

Significance of Salah or Namaaz
Salah is what we all Muslims need to adopt in our lives. We have to perform it with great dignity. As a Muslim it is obligatory upon us to perform Salah as it takes a man from the darkness into the light, from the bad to good and from Hell to Paradise.

Salat is something amazing in Islam and it is the way Muslims 'converse' with "Allah". Muslims make 'salat' (some people incorrectly call this 'prayer') every day, five times a day. Salat is a form of worship previously reserved only for prophets, but during the life of Muhammad, peace be upon him, Allah included any of the followers of the last prophet (Muhammad, peace be upon him) in this most distinguished and honorable group.

What is Salah or Namaaz

What is Salah? How to Perform it? How to perform Wudu? How to perform Salah correctly?
Salah is a pillar of Din. Doing it just right in accordance with Sunnah is the responsibility of every Muslim. Unfortunately, we go about performing the cardinal dictates of Salah in a carefree manner following our whims, hardly caring to see that those dictates have to be carried out in the manner they were passed on to us by the Holy Prophet PBUH.

This is why most of our Salah offerings remain deprived of the gleams and blessings of Sunnah, although, following these dictates just right hardly takes any more time or labour. What is needed is a touch of concern. If we give a little time and some attention, learn the correct method and make a habit of it, then the time that we spend in making our Salah today would remain the same yet the Salah thus performed would have the advantage of having been made in accordance with Sunnah and its rewards and merits and its gleams and blessings would be much more then what you experienced earlier.

What is Shahih Bukhari?

What is Shahih Bukhari?
Sahih Bukhari is a collection of sayings and deeds of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), also known as thesunnah. The reports of the Prophet's sayings and deeds are called ahadith. Bukhari lived a couple of centuries after the Prophet's death and worked extremely hard to collect his ahadith. Each report in his collection was checked for compatibility with the Qur'an, and the veracity of the chain of reporters had to be painstakingly established. Bukhari's collection is recognized by the overwhelming majority of the Muslim world to be one of the most authentic collections of the Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH).

List of all Surahs of Quran.

The following is a list of the Surahs in the Holy Quran along with their meanings:

What is Ayat?

What is Ayat?
Ayah or Ayat is the Arabic word for evidence or sign:
"These are the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations, etc.) of Allah, which We recite to you (O Muhammad) with truth. Then in which speech after Allah and His Ayat will they believe?" (Surat Al-Jathiya 45:6, Mohsin Khan translation of the Qur'an)

The word is usually used to refer to the smallest unit of the Qur'an, usually called 'verses' or 'signs' in English translations of the Qur'an. Muslims believe that each ayah of the Qur'an is a sign from God.

Chapters in the Qur'an, called suras in Arabic, are made up of several ayat, although suras vary greatly in length, ranging from 3 to 286 ayat. Within a long sura, ayat may be further divided into thematic sequences or passages.

A common myth persists that the number of ayat in the Qur'an is 6,666. In fact, the total number of ayat in all suras is 6,236; the number varies if the bismillahs are counted separately.

What is a Surah?

What is a Surah?
A surah is a division of the Quran, although it can be approximately referred to as a chapter. The term chapter is sometimes avoided, as the surahs are of unequal length; the shortest sura (Al-Kawthar) has only three ayat (verses) while the longest (Al-Baqara) contains 286 ayat. Of the 114 suras in the Quran, 86 are classified as Meccan while 28 are Medinan - this classification is only approximate as regards location of revelation - in fact, any sura revealed post-Hijrah is termed Medinan and any revealed before that event is termed as Meccan. The Meccan suras generally deal with faith and scenes of the Hereafter, while the Medinan suras are more concerned with organizing the social life of the (then) nascent Muslim community.

According to the theory of Nazm-e-Quran proposed by Hamiduddin Farahi, each surah has a central theme (umud) around which the ayat of the sura revolve. Notable scholars like Irfan Ahmad Khan and Mohammed al-Ghazali have also supported this view. The Quran is composed of 114 suras of very unequal lengths. The word "surah" is sometimes roughly translated as "chapter" in English, but this is not universally supported. Thus it is often used untranslated as a technical term in Islamic literature. Sometime in early Islamic history suras were divided into rukus (each comprising several ayat) to improve readability.
